Self-publishing is much easier and very rewarding because you as a great author can maintain personal contact with us, you, the author, maintains creative control of your work, it is easier to track your sales and you will always be able to speak to a representative at any time. By choosing Blue Hill Publishing, you are in control. You create your own publishing package by choosing which of the services we offer that best suits your needs. You also have complete control over editing. Copies of your book will be available for purchase through most bookstores and Internet booksellers, including major retail outlets such as Barnes & Noble, Kinokunia and Amazon.com. We work very hard to get your book noticed and sold around the world. Your book will be published in a format and quality that equals best-sellers. Sizes for hard cover and soft cover books will vary. What is the process of publishing your book? We'll support you through the short process. To get started please follow these simple instructions. 1. Send us your completed manuscript on a CD in Microsoft Word. A quality manuscript is one that, to the author's best ability, has been reviewed for grammar, spelling and punctuation. In other words, your book is nearly print-ready. 2. Format Please use MS Word (Microsoft Word) when submitting your book. Microsoft Word is preferred. You may also submit your book using Microsoft Publisher Software. 3. Cover Authors may design their own creative cover. However, if our authors need assistance, we at Blue Hill Publishing will work with the author to design and come up with an artistic and creative cover. 4. Illustrations If your book has illustrations, please make sure they are of the highest print quality. If you require illustrations, we have an art department that will draw any pictures you need. We will work with our authors to design and create creative pictures for your book. 5. Revision / Editing We will get your book ready for publishing. Once you've approved the final version, your book will go to the printers for publishing. Authors receive a free copy of the first print job. 6. Marketing / Advertising We have various areas to advertise your books. We will also arrange book signing events as well as other events for our author's books to be known around the world. However, we can offer marketing suggestions to our authors to increase sales opportunities. The more people that know about your book, the better your chances are at being a Best-Seller. 1. We recommend telling friends, co-workers and family about your book and our website. 2. We recommend sending an e-mail or letter to bookstores around the world introducing your book. If you ask them to add a link to their website, they usually do it and it is free. 3. We recommend asking other websites to link your book to their websites to make it easier to find. 4. We recommend sending out postcards to potential customers. 5. We recommend looking out for events and festivals in your area. You can usually get a table to display your book to customers and visitors. 7. Author's Biography Please send us your resume and a short biography of yourself, the author along with your manuscript. Remember, word of mouth is better and faster than conventional ways of advertising. 7. Royalties The royalties are paid to you quarterly.
